Getting to Know You Sunday. Sunday, April 4, 2010. I cannot believe I forgot to take before pictures of these shelves! These are the built in bookcases or shelves between our living room and kitchen. They were painted all off white including the backs when we moved it. I have always thought about changing them but was not really sure what I wanted. Finally it hit me the other day. I painted the back of the bookcases the same color as our walls and stenciled the black design. I LOVE it! What a great color!
